Artificial Intelligence + Design and Branding
Utilizing Artifical Intelligence (AI) where it is appropriate and efficient, we employ AI tools that include: Adobe, Canva, Midjourney, OpenAI, Perplexity, Google & Microsoft AI suites, and others.

Our team likes to learn new skills and utilize new tools. Melissa Mahoney, Indigo Creative’s Principal, completed recent AI coursework at Stanford Continuing Studies, Summer 2025: Demystifying AI: Insights from the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI). The course covered key issues like copyright, ownership, and liability in relation to content created with Generative AI (GenAI). This ties in directly to the services that Indigo Creative provides, and helps us provide guidance on how to utilize GenAI content and AI tools.

Melissa Mahoney, Founder and Principal of Indigo Creative
Melissa has a passion for design and branding, working in the industry for over 30 years.

Bay Area, California HQ ”Living and working in the Bay Area, it feels exciting to be at the center of so many universities and research institutes as well as technology growth and capital investing. The culture of curiosity and learning in the Bay Area keeps me striving to learn and to perform better”, says Melissa.

Learning and knowledge-share — Melissa is a lifelong-learner, and regularly takes Stanford Continuing Studies courses including a course called Demystifying AI. It’s great to be able to share this information with my clients as they expand AI usage in their industries. Melissa also attends TED conferences and leads Discovery Sessions. She calls it “brain camp” and looks forward to the annual, weeklong conference in Vancouver, Canada. The year 2025 marked her 7th TED conference, and she’s attended many other TEDx events across the country. Says Melissa, “It’s always a thrill to arrive at the TED conference and walk into the 2000-seat theater and immerse myself for the week, listening to the 70+ talks that presenters have prepared.”

Passion for and experience in creative expression In addition to design and branding, Melissa is an abstract painter. She utilizes large handmade calligraphy brushes to create abstract paintings. Both domestic and international collectors include Mahoney’s work in their portfolios. The US State Department selected one of her paintings for the US Ambassador’s Residence in Papua New Guinea. At TED2020 and at the TED2020 Staff Retreat, she led hands-on abstract painting discovery sessions. View Melissa’s artwork here.

This overall passion for creative expression, commercially and personally, helps Melissa deliver innovative solutions for Indigo Creatives clients.
